So, What's The Plan?
Valentines Cabaret | Mongolian Lunar New Year | DIY Doggie Treat Workshop
What's On In Porto This February
Happy Hearts Month! February is here, which means the city has collectively decided it’s time to talk about love — romantic, platonic, self directed, and occasionally misplaced.
Valentine’s Day might be the obvious headline, but love in Porto shows up in plenty of other ways this month: community led events, hands on workshops, long conversations over food and wine, and gatherings that are less about romance and more about togetherness. Whether you’re celebrating with a partner, friends, or simply treating yourself to something enjoyable, February has a way of making space for it all.
So if you’re craving something comforting, creative, or quietly joyful, here’s what’s happening around Porto this February.
FEBRUARY FREE EVENTS
📍luˈkaɫ
📆 February 21
A rare chance to experience something you don’t see every day in Porto. Shagai’s Mongolian Lunar New Year Celebration brings traditional Mongolian food and drinks to the table, but what makes this event special is the story behind it. Hosted by Shagai founder Onya, it’s a chance to experience her culture through flavours, rituals, and shared moments, offered openly and generously to the Porto community. Come curious, come hungry, and leave having experienced something genuinely meaningful.
📍 A Padoca
📆 1 February
💰 Entrance is free, pay for pizza
A Padoca is recreating the classic pizza night, fully plant-based, using carefully selected ingredients and a heavy dose of nostalgia. It’s indulgent without being heavy, familiar but done with care, and proof that vegan pizza doesn’t need explaining or defending. Seats are limited, so if pizza is your love language, don’t sleep on this one.
Marquês Flea Market
📍 Marques Pombal
📆 7 February
If rummaging through other people’s treasures is your idea of a good Saturday, the Marquês flea market never disappoints. Expect a proper mix — vintage bits, old books, ceramics, clothes with stories, and the occasional “why would someone get rid of this?” gem. It’s relaxed, local, and far less chaotic than the bigger markets, making it ideal for a slow wander, a coffee nearby, and the smug satisfaction of finding something no one else has.
In Case You Missed It:
Some days, yoga just isn’t enough. Enter Rage Room Porto, a space where breaking things is not only allowed, it’s the whole point. You suit up, pick your weapon of choice, and smash your way through stress, frustration, or that one email you’re still thinking about. It’s weirdly therapeutic, deeply satisfying, and far more fun than doom-scrolling. Ideal for birthdays, breakups, bad weeks, or just curiosity. Think of it as selfcare, but louder.

It’s designed to nudge you out of your reading and drinking comfort zones, with the very real possibility of leaving with a new favourite book, a new favourite wine, and someone new to text about both. Two glasses, one book, and a refreshingly social evening.

Having started his career in New York before uprooting his life for Europe, Nya’s humour is sharp, observant, and deeply relatable — especially if you’ve ever felt out of place anywhere. Perfect for locals, expats, and anyone who enjoys laughing at the chaos of modern life.
